LuxLab Usability Lab
Overview
The Art Institute of Atlanta (AiA) needed a website to showcase the abilities of it's new on-site usability lab
Challenge
With no branding for the website in place and no name, the usability lab needed to match the AiA corporate branding and start the process of building user confidence.
Solution
Since the lab will be rented out and run by students, the brand strategy needed to say collective knowledge, scientific, creative. Coming up with a logo mark to looks like a brain and a group of people, and incorporating the scientific unit of measurement for illumination - "lux" - accomplished this goal. Using the AiA red/black as a base, but incorporating a dark gray and some white, ensures that the site matches AiA corporate standards. And a very modern, industrial feel to the design gives the user a sense of authenticity and confidence in this well-built lab. Some creative copywriting and custom Wordpress completed the site.
